To install hardwood floors, you should mark the beams that support your floor. Draw a line on the baseboard. Make sure it measures about 3/8 inches. Then find your pattern.
You can do this by checking out the longest straight wall. This is going to be your starting point. Position your board on the baseboard line.
You must ensure that the hardwood and the floor beams are perpendicular to each other. This will ensure that the hardwood flooring is properly supported by the joints.
Fasten your hardwood to the board into the beam. The most recommended way to do it is by nailing the hardwood down. This is especially true for the areas where nail gun could not penetrate through the sub floor and the beam.
Work on fastening the ends of tongue and groove together. You can simultaneously hammer a nail and use gun nail on this task.
